As a reminder, if you don’t have 14 oz. boxing sparring gloves and a full face-cage headgear, check with us on placing an order. We want to make sure everyone has their own gear for Friday nights.
Final classes are this week before we take a two week layoff for the holidays. Last class will be MMA on Friday, December 16. Then, we will return for our first class of 2012 with BJJ on Tuesday, January 3.
So, come train hard because you are going to be sitting around like a lump for the next two weeks!

Bogdan Ilisie snagged some silver at the NAGA tournament this weekend in Newark, NJ in the Masters No-Gi Expert Cruiser Weight division. After coming up short in his first match by 2 points, he rallied with a beautiful triangle in the next. Congrats!
We got a big (small) surprise this week when assistant instructor Rich “Hollywood” Casazza showed up with a new student. We were very happy to meet his new son, Richard, for the first time!

Carlos Machado’s Dallas location was the victim of fire and flood damage last week. So, the BJJ community came together to with a fund raiser seminar to help with the reconstruction.

As if it wasn’t enough of a memorable occasion having all 5 of the Machado brothers teach an amazing camp this past weekend at Master Carlos Machado’s academy in Dallas, TX, Marcio was also surprised by the brothers when they presented him with his 3rd degree black belt!
Prof. Marcio was humbled by this promotion, but to his students, his teachers, & his friends Marcio’s dedication to spreading the art of jiu-jitsu is evident and this is well deserved!
Sunday’s BJJ class (gi) will be on hiatus for a little while as Jetsun heals up from some injuries. We hope to reinstate this into the schedule again soon. In the meantime, we’ll see you during the week!

FYI, we are moving MMA class on Friday nights half an hour later. The new time will be from 730pm to 930pm. This should work out better anyway for those of you who are always running late on Friday !
So, all weeknight classes begin at 730pm now. Easy to remember!
